Students of NBCHS took a break from their studies on Sept. 8 and headed out to Battlefords Provincial Park for the annual welcome day.

Students spent the day playing football, volleyball and soccer. They took part in egg toss, slip'n'slide and melon toss activities. There was a sandcastle contest, scavenger hunt, balloon shaving, a frozen t-shirt contes and the great race.

The Great Race involves a team of eight or more with multiple events such as; magic carpet ride, long distance run, leap frog, shooshing, orange neck pass, piggy back ride and needle in the hay stack.

"Welcome Day was pretty great! Seeing people get totally covered in egg during the egg toss was possibly the funniest thing ever," says Shallen McNabb.

The students also enjoyed a hot dog lunch that, like all the rest of the day, was provided by the Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC planned all the activities and did all of the preparation work that made the day the success it was.

Although the day was fun, it is time for the students to get back to the books.
