Update P.A. Police identify body of woman, 36, in burned vehicle

The deceased female, was about five-foot-one and approximately 100 pounds. She was wearing distinctive pink high-top Nike Flight shoes and maroon-coloured leggings from Lululemon. 

Update: A 36-year-old woman has been identified as the deceased female located inside a burned vehicle on Sunday morning in the 1200 Block of 17th Street West, confirmed Prince Albert Police Her identity was confirmed following the completion of an autopsy on Wednesday.

The public was instrumental in assisting police and they would like to once again thank residents for their quick response in this investigation.

Members with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Prince Albert Police Service and Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.

Update: Prince Albert Police continue to investigate the death of a female located inside a burned vehicle Sunday morning outside a residence in the 1200 Block of 17th Street West. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Police have received information from the public, which has helped advance this investigation and they would like to thank residents for contacting them.

“Information from the public has been key in this investigation,” said Staff Sergeant Travis Willie with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Prince Albert Police Service. “The quick response from residents has been a significant factor and we anticipate more information will be released following the autopsy.”

Members with the Criminal Investigation Division and the Forensic Identification Section of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate.

PRINCE ALBERT – A female was found deceased in a vehicle fire Sunday and Prince Albert Police are trying to identify her.

Prince Albert Police say that just before 9 a.m. on Oct. 2., they were called to the 1200 block of 17 Street West for a report of a vehicle on fire. The Prince Albert Fire Department was also called.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived. When the fire was extinguished the deceased female was found inside.

Investigators are presently attempting to identify the deceased female, who is described as being approximately five-foot-one and 100 pounds. The deceased was located wearing distinctive pink high-top Nike Flight shoes and maroon-coloured leggings from Lululemon. 

Prince Albert Police say they haven’t had any reports involving a female matching the description of the person located inside the vehicle and are asking for the public’s help with this investigation. Investigators are anxious to identify the deceased and locate her loved ones.

The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate along with the Office of the Chief Coroner. Investigators will remain in the area for the remainder of the day Sunday and possibly into Monday.
