Gymnasts syncho teams win silver medals at Canada Winter Games

Halle Pipko and Jami Reschke of Regina have claimed Saskatchewan’s first silver medal, a medal won in the Gymnastics Trampoline.

Regina - Saskatchewan has added a pair of silver medals on the trampoline in male and female gymnastics.

Halle Pipko and Jami Reschke of Regina have claimed Saskatchewan’s first silver medal, a medal won in the Gymnastics Trampoline - Synchro Female event. Pipko, 17, and Reschke, 15, were in sixth place after their first routine in the preliminary round and fifth after their second and final preliminary round routine.

In the final, the girls pulled off their best routine of the day. After scores of 28.100 and 28.660 in the preliminary round, Pipko and Reschke had a score of 41.100 in the final. Nova Scotia also scored the same 41.100 score but after a tiebreak Saskatchewan earned Silver while Team NS finished in third.

Ontario took gold after a final routine of 44.930.

In the male synchro trampoline, the team of Wilson Reimche and Connor Wehage of Saskatoon also earned a silver medal after a spectacular final routine in PEI. Reimche, 13, and Wehage, 15, were in fourth place after the preliminary round but saved their best for last.

Once scores were posted, it was learned that Reimche and Wehage earned a 42.360 in the final routine and a second place finish, narrowly ahead of Alberta who scored 42.110.

New Brunswick finished in first with a score of 43.270.
