COVID-19 has created roadblocks for everyone, the Sheho 4-H Beef Club being no exception.

The COVID-19 shutdown has meant the club has had to be creative to finish its season.

In July, local 4-H clubs normally come together at the Yorkton Regional Show and Sale to showcase their projects. After the show they sell their project to the sponsors and as freezer beef.

However, the pandemic led to the cancellation of the 2020 show.

In response, the Sheho 4-H Beef Club decided they would continue on and do what they could to complete their 4-H season.

To complete a 4-H project they needed to complete public speaking, a 4-H questionnaire quiz, the member record books for each beef project and to finish off by showcasing their animal at an Achievement Day.

Our members took the time to complete a questionnaire online, finished their records books and submitted them electronically to their General leader; Josh Vogel and finally created a video of their projects to be posted on social media.

The steers were all sold to family, friends and committed sponsors as freezer beef.

They made the best of the situation but missed out on the huge social benefits of interacting with their peers at these great shows, sharing laughs and hanging out with each other.

They became stronger people because of their sacrifice in 2020, note their leaders.
