CCS celebrates graduation in the great outdoors

As the graduates entered individually to their favourite music, it quickly became apparent that this is a talented and diverse group.

The 28 members of the Canora Composite School class of 2023 celebrated their graduation with family and friends on June 29 at King George Park. CANORA - Under near-ideal weather, the 28 graduates of the Canora Composite School were honoured on June 29 at King George Park in Canora. The memory of Chase Kraynick was also celebrated, as he was a member of this class, but his young life tragically ended at the age of six.

The theme chosen by the graduates for their special day was “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it!”

As the graduates entered individually to their favourite music, it quickly became apparent that this is a talented and diverse group. They were introduced by emcees Dustin Nielsen and Curtis Baillie:

Havin Conrad Berehula: “Next year Havin will be taking a year off to work, and in the future, he plans to become a welder.”

Jaxon Cole Bishop: “Next Year Jaxon plans on attending Sask Polytech in Moose Jaw, where he will work toward obtaining an engineering design and drafting technology diploma. In the future Jaxon plans on getting a good job and making lots of money.”

Jayden Kyra Kylee Burym: “Jayden will be attending the Canadian College of Funeral Service and working alongside Bailey’s Funeral Home. In the future Jayden plans on becoming a mortician.”

Elizabeth Cuni: “Elizabeth plans on attending the University of Toronto Mississauga for physical and chemical sciences. In the future Elizabeth's goal is to become a cosmetic nurse.”

Kenyon Figuereo-Savinon: “In the future Kenyon plans on successfully finishing his studies at the University of Saskatchewan and start working on his own business focussed on making people's lives easier through technology.”

Cole Shawn Fountain: “Next year Cole plans on finding a job to start making money so he can figure out what to do in life.”

Logan Sam Grabowski: “Logan will be attending Sask Polytech to obtain his LPN course. In the future Logan wishes to obtain his Registered Nurse degree.”

Tomas Sean Hauber: “Next year Tomas plans on attending Sask Polytech in Saskatoon where he will be studying power engineering, in hopes of becoming a power engineer.”

Ethan Michael Heshka: “Ethan will be working towards getting his apprentice hours on the pipeline for welding, and in the fall he will be attending Sask Polytech welding school, looking to become a red seal welder.”

Dawson Curtis Jennings: “Dawson plans on entering the workforce next year.”

Jackson Leland Louis Krotenko: “Jackson will be beginning classes at the University of Saskatchewan in computer science toward a bachelors of science, majoring in computer science. His goal is to work as a software engineer.”

Logan Reid Lewchuk: “Next year Logan will be attending the University of Saskatchewan to pursue a bachelor of science in agribusiness In the future Logan wants to work in the agricultural industry.”

Daylia Anita Lukey: “Next year Daylia plans to take a gap year, then enroll at Sask Polytech with the goal of becoming a pharmacist.”

Cole Donald Marcinkoski-Gould: “Cole will be attending Lakeland College in Vermilion, Alta. where he has been accepted to the wildlife and fisheries conservation program. He plans to graduate college, find a job in the related field and also buy a farm in Alberta.”

Nickolas Michael Medvid: “Next year, Nic plans on working in the agriculture industry. In the future, he want to start his own cattle ranch.”

Toby Seth Olynyk: “Toby will be attending Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio on a lacrosse scholarship and enrolled in business management. In the future Toby plan is to be happy.”

Meadow Alivia Ostafie: “Next year Meadow will be attending the University of Saskatchewan in the college of agriculture and bioresources, with the goal of becoming an agrologist.”

Joseph Allan Palagian: “Joey will be attending the University Of Regina where he will be playing football for the Regina Thunder, and starting his degree in kinesiology. In the future, he plans to become a physiotherapist.”

Everett Jay Paley: “Everett will be moving to Saskatoon to study at Sask Polytech toward become an industrial mechanic. In the future Everett plans on working in an industrial machine shop.”

Haydyn Amy Grace Parmley: “Haydyn plans on taking her CCA course at Parkland College as well as maintaining her job at Eaglestone Lodge. In the future, her goal is to become a licensed practical nurse.”

Brooklyn Marie Reine: “Next year Brooklyn plans to work fulltime and then enroll into a dental assisting program in order to become a dental assistant.”

Latifah Scadette Severight: “Latifah will be attending Parkland College as a University of Regina student to pursue her bachelors of education while maintaining her job at the Co-op C-store. She hopes to become a middle years school teacher.”

Robin Marie Skurat: “Robin will be attending the University of Saskatchewan to pursue a bachelor of commerce degree. In the future Robin hopes to apply into a CPA program to become a chartered accountant.”

Kailey Joelle Sleeva: “Kailey plans on attending Saskatchewan Polytech to obtain her bachelor of science in nursing, looking to become a becoming a pediatric nurse.”

Hayden William Strelioff: “Next Year Hayden will be attending the University of Saskatchewan taking the agriculture and bioresources diploma in agronomy program. Hayden plans to work in the field of agriculture and likely continue to work on the Strelioff Family Farm.”

Zoë Jane Thomas: “Zoë will be attend the University of Calgary for engineering. In the future, Zoë plans on becoming a petroleum engineer.”

Methyl Dawn Trask: “Methyl will be attending the University of Saskatchewan in the college of arts and science to start her pre-professional year of nursing. Methyl's ambition is to get a bachelor of nursing degree and pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.”

Logan William Louis Wolkowski: “Next year Logan plans to explore his options and save money for school. In the future he plans on becoming a paramedic.”

Nielsen and Baillie then congratulated the grads on their big day, after their “long and crazy adventure” since first arriving at CCS in 2015, when “Methyl was the fastest kid in Grade 5 and that’s probably also when Joey started his first workout.”
