KAMSACK — In a meeting held at the Broda Sportsplex, members of the Kamsack Curling Club came together for their annual general meeting to discuss the upcoming curling season.

The Oct. 24 meeting brought together enthusiasts of the sport to strategize and organize the events and activities for the season.

The AGM was primarily focused on preparations for the upcoming curling season and ways to attract more participants.

Jennifer Koroluk, Vice-President of the Kamsack Curling Club said, “We’re struggling this year, and we could use a lot of people to come and curl.”

A conversation emerged surrounding last year's challenges, with one participant mentioning that the ice was not ready until January, which hindered the club's activities. This year, there seemed to be a renewed determination to overcome those challenges, with a goal of increasing participation.

Ed Guenther, President of the Kamsack Curling Club said, “Yeah, last year we kind of struggled because the ice wasn't ready until January.”

The focus then shifted to plans for the curling season. The group aimed to continue the tradition of mixed curling on Thursdays, and plans for the season's start date to to coincide with the senior curling event that same week.

Guenther said, “Just business as usual. Trying to get some more teams out for mixed curling on Thursdays.”

Koroluk said, “It's gonna start on Nov. 9. That is when senior curling is to start.”
