Kamsack RCMP Report for March 20-27.

KAMSACK - The Kamsack RCMP responded to 46 calls from March 20 to March 27. This included three 911 Act calls, four Mental Health Act calls, four Mischief calls, two break and enter calls, two false alarms, an assault, as well as a handful of other occurrences.

Buffalo Breakout

On March 24, Kamsack RCMP received a call from the Key First Nation stating that their buffalo managed to get out and were wandering around, heading north. Later, they informed Kamsack RCMP members that they were walking the buffalo back and would be fixing the fence where the buffalo had broken out.

Return of the Chainsaw

Kamsack RCMP members received a call from last week's complainant stating that his chainsaw was brought back by a friend. The friend would not state who took the chainsaw but it is back in the hands of the owner. We can now call off the search party.

Vehicle Safety

Kamsack RCMP gave out several inspection tickets last week. We would like to remind everyone to make sure their vehicles are in proper driving conditions before taking them out on the road, especially at night. We have talked to a few residents of Kamsack who stated that, at times, they will drive at night seeing one headlight thinking it’s a motorcycle. However, as the vehicle gets closer, it turns out to be a pick-up truck or a different larger-sized vehicle. It is imperative to keep your headlights and taillights in working condition to prevent accidents from occurring. If you apply the brakes of the vehicle and your taillights do not function properly, the vehicle behind you may not know that you’re braking at high speed – which can cause a delay in their braking. Please prevent unnecessary accidents by ensuring you have properly running and serviced vehicles.
