KAMSACK — The parking lot of the Legacy Co-op food store in Kamsack was filled to near capacity Aug. 22 when the Co-op served its member appreciation barbecue.
“We wouldn't be where we are today without you, and we're so grateful for your support,” said information from the Co-op. “To show our appreciation, we have a line-up of events planned throughout the month for you, along with surprise giveaways, and great food.”
At Kamsack from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Co-op staff members manned the grill where wieners were barbecued, and then members of the Legacy Co-op team made the hot dogs and served macaroni and potato salads, fresh fruit, cookies and beverages to all comers.
Asked how many wieners he had cooked, Richard Burym, manager of the petroleum division in Yorkton, said that he had already barbecued 600 wieners and it was only noon. Assisting him at the grill were former Kamsack resident Dillon Zolkavich of Melville, who is the manager of the Palliser Way C-Store in Yorkton, and Zoë Williams, the Legacy marketing co-ordinator in Yorkton.
Prior to staging the member appreciation day in Kamsack, similar events were held at the Legacy Co-op Yorkton Agro Centre on July 31; the Legacy Co-op Churchbridge Food Store on Aug. 7, and the Legacy Co-op Theodore Agro Centre on Aug. 15.
