4 charged in Cody Tait's death appear in Saskatoon court

After receiving a report of a shooting on Beardy’s/Okemasis’ Cree Nation at approximately 5:50 p.m. March 27, police found an injured Tait on a road in the community

SASKATOON – Four people accused of killing 22-year-old Cody Tait had appearances in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday.

Robbie Brent Cameron, 28, Alison Ocean Sky Bear, 20, and Dana Andrew Morningchild, 29, all of Saskatoon, as well as Scotty Lee Jimmy, 20, of North Battleford are charged with second-degree murder. Court documents show that Morningchild also faces two drug-related and seven weapons charges in other incidents.

After receiving a report of a shooting on Beardy’s/Okemasis’ Cree Nation at approximately 5:50 p.m. on March 27, police found an injured Tait on a road in the community. Despite life-saving efforts, Tait was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two days later RCMP Major Crimes arrested Cameron. Then on April 1, RCMP arrested Jimmy and Bear, and on April 5 they arrested Morningchild.

The four are scheduled to appear in court next May 10.
