Arrest made in 2017 Saskatoon homicide

A man already in custody has been charged by the Saskatoon Police Service with a 2017 murder.

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section has charged a 22-year-old man with first-degree murder in connection to a 2017 homicide.

On Nov. 4, 2017 at around 6:15 a.m. Tyler Owen Morin, then 30, was shot in a residence in the 200-block Avenue V South. He died as a result of his injuries on Nov. 11, 2017.

After continued investigation by the Major Crime Section, a 22-year-old man who was already in custody due to an unrelated matter, was arrested Tuesday in Prince Albert. He will make his first court appearance Wednesday morning.

The 2017 murder was Saskatoon's fifth homicide of the year.
