Crime Stoppers update: Punnichy RCMP arrest suspect for assault, robbery, firearm charges

PUNNICHY — Update: Punnichy RCMP located and arrested Joshua Bitternose on Gordon First Nation on Jan. 21.

He will appear in Regina Provincial Court via video on Jan. 24.

Background: Punnichy RCMP are looking for a suspect who has been actively evading them.

Joshua Tyler Bitternose, 35, of George Gordon First Nation, is charged with:

  • 1 count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code
  • 1 count, robbery with firearm, Section 344(1)(a.1), Criminal Code
  • 1 count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code
  • 2 counts, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code
  • 1 count, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code
  • 8 counts, possession of a firearm or ammunition while prohibited, Section 117.01, Criminal Code
  • 1 count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code
  • 1 count, possess weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code
  • 1 count, possess firearm in motor vehicle, Section 94, Criminal Code
  • 1 count, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code

A warrant has been issued for Joshua Tyler Bitternose’s arrest and Punnichy RCMP are actively attempting to locate and arrest him.

Joshua Tyler Bitternose is described as approximately 6’ tall and 250 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has connections to the George Gordon First Nation and Regina.
