On Sept. 5, at about 12:40 am, the Indian Head RCMP were dispatched to a serious two vehicle collision on Highway #1 east of Indian Head.
Indian Head Fire Department, Indian Head EMS, File Hills Police Service members and Fort Quappelle RCMP Detachment also attended to assist with the investigation and treatment of the involved individuals.
The collision occurred about five-kilometres east of Indian Head on the Trans Canada Highway when a semi truck and trailer collided with a minivan that was entering the highway.
The 62-year-old driver of the minivan, who was a resident of Carry The Kettle First Nation, was declared deceased at the scene.
The two occupants of the semi unit were not injured.
With the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist and the Provincial Coroner Service, the investigation into the collision is continuing.
