The Yorkton Film Festival appeared before the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday to fulfill their sponsorship package with the City.
“I am pleased to inform you that the 69th Yorkton Film Festival was a great success,” said Keith Hayward.
Hayward said this year’s success builds on a rich heritage.
“This film festival is a deeply rooted tradition in Yorkton. Festival delegates, media, industry representatives and dignitaries marvel and applaud the efforts of our relatively small city for maintaining the success of this organization. Through various comments, evaluations and suggestions regarding the festival, the message that becomes clear is the appreciation from our visitors in receiving a warm welcome from the community in Yorkton,” he said.
“On behalf of the entire board and office staff of the Yorkton Film Festival, I would like to once again express our most sincere thanks to the City of Yorkton. It is through the continued support of organizations like yours that allow this festival to maintain its level of excellence in recognizing the achievements of filmmakers across the nation.”
Hayward said the Festival looks forward to a continued partnership with the City as well.
“We look forward to working with you on the 70th Yorkton Film Festival to promote, recognize and celebrate Canada’s short film industry,” he said.
