SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department was called early Saturday to assist a person out of the river in the River Landing area.

The call was reported at 8:02 a.m. where a female in the river needed water rescue.

SFD dispatched one engine, two rescue boats, and the Battalion Chief to the scene.

The report stated that a female was needing assistance in the river and appeared not to be in any distress.

An SFD surface water technician was sent to assist the female out of the water, and the person was then transferred to the care of the police and ambulance service.

No other information had been given out as of posting time.
