Items of interest from the LTC residents

The residents and staff members of the Preeceville and District Health Centre’s long-term care wing (LTC) have had a busy summer with numerous activities and visitors.

The residents and staff members of the Preeceville and District Health Centre’s long-term care wing (LTC) have had a busy summer with numerous activities and visitors.

In the month of August, the residents enjoyed making “beetniks,” baking dill and green onion buns and going on outdoor walks. Other activities featured Bible studies, group exercises, bingo, breakfast club, block walks, and weekly church services provided by different members of the Preeceville Ministerial Association. Entertainment was supplied by Orville and Company, Mike and Company, and the Mennonite Choir.

In the month of September, residents kicked off the month with a discussion group on harvest and gardening. Roland Larsen, Mike and Company and Willie and June Jakubowski and Company provided entertainment for the month.

The auxiliary was to host a grand-parents’ day coffee party on September 12 followed by a scheduled outing to the Schutte farm. The annual Terry Fox walk is scheduled for September 19 followed by the Alzheimer Coffee Break on September 21.

The monthly birthday party is to be hosted by the Trinity United Church later in the month.

Regular activities included: walking, games of bingo, baking, Bible studies, breakfast club, group exercises, wheelchair exercises and ball toss. Residents enjoyed numerous visits from family and friends.
