North Battleford RCMP and RCMP Major Crime Unit: Charges laid in relation to homicide

One suspect in custody, one wanted on warrant

On the evening of July 11, 2019, investigators arrested 47 year-old David Keller of North Battleford, SK, in relation to the homicide of 61 year-old Mark Douglas Jonson, also of North Battleford. Keller has been charged with First Degree Murder (S. 235(1) of the Criminal Code).

He has been remanded and will make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, July 15, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.

North Battleford RCMP and the RCMP Major Crime Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 22 year-old Nicolas Buck of North Battleford, who is also charged with First Degree Murder in relation to this offence. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Buck is considered dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who observes him should immediately contact North Battleford RCMP at 306-446-1720, call 310-RCMP, or in an emergency dial 911.

Buck is described as being approximately 5’10” tall, weighing 130 lbs, with a fair complexion, hazel eyes and blonde hair. He has tattoos on his left forearm, left upper arm and left thumb. He was last seen wearing a Puma sweater, a toque and jeans.

He may be travelling in a Ford SUV, possibly an Explorer, year unknown. When last seen, he was in the company of two unidentified individuals, one male and one female. It is possible that he could be headed to the Lloydminster, AB, area, but this has not been confirmed.

Again, he is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
