Police arrest woman for assault

SASKATOON - A woman was arrested early Monday morning after police responded to an assault at a hotel. 

At approximately 4:30 a.m., police officers responded to a hotel in the 2800 block of Lorne Avenue after it was reported that a woman was assaulted and a firearm may be present.

Upon arrival, they located two females at the front entrance who were known to each other. One of the women was found to have sustained injuries from a physical assault and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation found the other woman to have a loaded magazine of ammunition in her pocket, and a subsequent search of her bag located a firearm. 

A 20-year-old woman was charged with Assault, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Possession of Loaded Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence, and Careless Use of Firearm.
