SASKATOON — The Saskatchewan Party now has a candidate in place for the upcoming Saskatoon Meewasin byelection.

Kim Groff has won a contested nomination meeting Thursday.

Groff had previously run in Saskatoon Centre in the 2020 election.

The two main parties in the legislature now both have candidates in place for the byelection. Nathaniel Teed was nominated earlier this week to run for the NDP.

The byelection will fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of former NDP leader Ryan Meili. Saskatoon Meewasin was last held by the Sask. Party by Roger Parent from 2011 until his death in 2016.

The byelection has not yet been called and a date has not been set.
