SASKATOON - Sunday will mark the 18th year that Saskatchewan Police and Peace Officers pay tribute and remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of their communities.

Unfortunately due to the ongoing pandemic, this year's memorial and gathering of police and peace officers at the legislature in Regina has been cancelled.

Members of the public are invited to honour and pay their respects to fallen members in their own way, and by watching the Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial in Ottawa: http://CPPOM.ca/Live.

The reading of the names will begin at 7 a.m. (9 a.m. ET), with the memorial service beginning at 9 a.m. (11 a.m. ET).

In 1998, the Government of Canada proclaimed the last Sunday in September as the Canadian Police and Peace Officers Memorial day to express appreciation for the dedication of Police and Peace Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in their efforts to keep communities safe.
