Saskatoon Police are investigating Saturday morning fire

Saskatoon Police Service is now investigating Saturday's structure fire which is been deemed as suspicious.

The Saskatoon Police Service has taken over the investigation on a structure fire that happened early Saturday morning in the east of the city after being deemed as suspicious.

A fire investigator arrived at the scene and identified that the cause of was a recycle bin that was lit on fire and later spread to an attached garage.

At 6:14 a.m. on Saturday, the Saskatoon Fire Department’s Communications Centre received a call regarding a structure fire on the 900 Block of Saskatchewan Crescent East.

Three fire engines, a ladder truck, one rescue unit, and the Battalion Chief were dispatched and when they arrived on the scene, the garage was already fully involved.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or responding firefighters while the damage to property was estimated at $200,000.
