Update: Warman woman, 43, dies in collision with train near Elstow

A serious collision occurred near Elstow, Sask., on Hwy 16.

Update 2: A 43-year-old woman from Warman was declared deceased on scene by EMS after her SUV collided with a train 1.6 kilometres west of Elstow on Dec. 4.

RCMP say that her next of kin have been notified.

No injuries to the CP crew were reported to police. Emergency responders in attendance included the CP police, local fire department and EMS, and an RCMP Traffic Collision Reconstructionist. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service also attended and ordered an autopsy. The highway was closed and traffic was rerouted from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

Update: Saskattoon RCMP say that Highway 16 is now open, and there is no longer any restrictions in place. 

They haven't provided any updates on injuries. 

SASKATOON - Saskatoon RCMP Detachment is currently on scene of a serious collision, located approximately 1.6 km west of Elstow, Sask on Hwy 16. 

The local Fire Department is currently assisting with a traffic detour.  RCMP advise drivers to please use caution when travelling in the immediate area.
