SASKATOON — The National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge is Saturday, April 9..

In recognition, flags at all city of Saskatoon facilities will be flown at half-mast to honour and remember those who fought.

The Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917 was the first time Canadians from coast to coast fought in a battle together against a common enemy.

It is also considered by many to be a turning point for the country and the beginning of Canada’s march towards nationhood.
