Update: Saskatoon police charge two in woman's death

Police are asking anyone with any related information to contact the Saskatoon Police Service.

SASKATOON — Update: Police say that their investigation into a suspicious death has now determined it to be a homicide. It is Saskatoon's second homicide of 2023. 

Major Crime Investigators have taken two persons of interest into custody; a 37-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man.  The man is charged with second-degree murder and the woman is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. 

They both appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court Wednesday morning. The man is scheduled to appear again on Feb. 16 to speak to his matter and the woman appears on Feb. 13 for a show cause hearing. 

The victim has been identified as a 44-year-old Saskatoon woman. Her name is not being released at this time at the request of her family. 

The investigation continues, and anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the SPS at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Traffic is restricted on Range Road 3062 near the intersection with 11th Street West while police investigate a suspicious death.

According to Saskatoon Police Service, investigators from the Major Crime Section as well as technicians from the Forensic Identification Section are involved in the investigation.
