Second murder charge laid in Megan Gallagher investigation

Thirty-year-old Megan Gallagher went missing in Saskatoon in September of 2020. In January 2021, the Saskatoon Police Service announced it was treating her disappearance as a homicide.

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service says its Major Crime Section has arrested a woman and charged her with the first-degree murder of Megan Gallagher.

On Sept. 26, SPS investigators arrested Cheyann Crystal Peeteetuce, 29, at a correctional facility in Prince Albert where she was incarcerated on an unrelated sentence at the time of her arrest. Peeteetuce was transported back to Saskatoon and remains in police custody.. She is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Tuesday.

This is the second person charged with first-degree murder and the sixth person arrested in connection to the investigation. Robert "Bobby" James Thomas, 27, was charged with the first-degree murder of Megan Gallagher on Sept. 20.

This is the sixth arrest made by the SPS in connection to the homicide of Megan Gallagher. Also charged are Jessica Sutherland, John Wayne Sanderson, Roderick William Sutherland and Ernest Vernon Whitehead. Their charges are under Section 182 (b) of the Criminal Code – Indignity to Human Remains.
