Skateboarding will be the feature at Fall Freestyle

SASKATOON — The Fall Freestyle event will be held on Saturday with the city hosting it at the Lions Skate Park in Victoria Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The park is next to Riversdale Pool at 822 Avenue H South.

The event will have skateboarding demonstrations, music, pizzas, and prizes with organizers reminding those who will bring their skateboards to wear helmets and safety gear. They are also reminding everyone to wear a mask and be safe while enjoying the show.

Organizers are also encouraging those who have no experience skateboarding to try with the city providing gear they can borrow.

Everyone can learn the basics of skateboarding while also watching the demonstration and other stunts performed by experienced skateboarders.

Organizers will be following COVID-19 protocols for everyone’s safety this include all staff wearing masks, practice social distancing, sanitizing equipment after every use, and proper handling when it comes to food.

Those who are going to attend the event are also encouraged to practice social distancing and wearing of masks are recommended. Masks will be provided to those who will be needing one.

In other news, the city is also reminding motorists and pedestrians that Traffic Bridge between 11th Street and Spadina Crescent will be closed to all traffic on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. to give way to an educational video shoot.

The pedestrian walkways across the bridge will also be closed during the duration of the project, which is expected to take six hours depending on unforeseen circumstances or the weather. Detours will be put in place to guide the motorists to take alternative routes.

The routes of Saskatoon Transit may also be affected.
