The City of Saskatoon says the entire priority street system will be graded within 72 hours of the end of the snowfall.

SASKATOON — Saskatoon is waking up to another 15 centimetres of snow Tuesday, following the snowstorm over the weekend. City crews were plowing and applying salt and sand along Circle Drive and grading snow from the highest traffic priority 1 streets throughout the night while it snowed.

Once the snow stopped early this morning, a snow event was declared and contractors joined city crews again for a total of six plows, 28 graders, 15 sanders on priority 1, 2 and 3 streets through Saskatoon neighbourhoods. The entire priority street system will be graded within 72 hours of the end of the snowfall.

Even with the use of de-icing material, extra moisture may cause slippery conditions during peak driving times, especially on bridges where ice particles may be in the air above the river.

Sidewalk, pathway, cycle tracks and bike lane clearing is also underway, in addition to ongoing monitoring and treatment of slippery street locations. Please watch for blue and amber flashing lights on road maintenance equipment and leave room for them to do their work.

Transit service may be impacted by accumulated snow; service alerts and real-time bus tracking is available on Google Maps or Transit App.
