Three arrested after cab driver's vehicle stolen

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested three people after a cab driver was robbed of his vehicle on Wednesday night.

On March 2 at approximately 10:15 p.m., police received the report of a vehicle theft in progress, near Rusholme Road and Avenue S North. It was reported that a cab driver had been assaulted, had his vehicle stolen, and had been hit by the vehicle. Upon arrival officers located the victim and he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Three suspects had fled the scene.

With assistance from the SPS Air Support Unit, the vehicle was located in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West. A high-risk vehicle stop was conducted and three people were taken into custody. Officers found the driver, a 30-year-old woman was impaired by alcohol.

The 30-year-old woman is charged with robbery, impaired driving, dangerous driving, exceed .08, and failure to stop after an accident.

A 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman are charged with robbery.
