Yorkton Historic Flour Mill hosts Culture Days event

Culture Days Yorkton will be offering 45 events.

YORKTON - Culture Days officially kicked off in Yorkton Friday.

Culture Days Yorkton will be offering 45 events that have been organized by more than 30 local artists and arts and culture organizations. The events will be held at various venues around the community through until Oct. 15.

And the first event on the list was at the Yorkton Historic Flour Mill which hosted several ‘mini sessions’ for attendees to visit and have some hands-on education.

The sessions included wheat straw weaving, willow weaving and an educational stop to learn about wheat and other crops.

“Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. At the end of each September, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events across the country both in-person and online. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities,” details culturedays.ca
