Both Outlook High School and LCBI were the site of some exciting basketball action last weekend, giving fans a chance to take in some hoops at either gymnasium.

Over at OHS, the junior boys team hosted a daylong tournament on Saturday, January 14, welcoming squads from Rosetown, Biggar and Kindersley for a four-team round robin event. The Blues may have been on the losing end against the visiting teams, but the younger players gained some more experience in the sport and learned from their older teammates.

Outlook came out looking their best against the Kindersley Kobras, who went 4-0 in the tournament to go home the victors.

Meanwhile, over at LCBI, the Lady Bisons hosted their 38th annual invitational tournament, held over Friday and Saturday. The event welcomed teams from Fillmore, North Battleford, Moose Jaw, Delisle, and Saskatoon. The Lady Bisons fared well, playing in Pool A and taking a loss to Saskatoon at 68-35, but rebounding to take the win against Moose Jaw at a score of 56-43.

In the playoff rounds, the first place team in Pool A played first in Pool B, and this continued down the line. This saw the second-ranked LCBI go up against North Battleford, and after some great action that had fans in the stands cheering and hollering, the Lady Bisons defeated their opponents at a score of 46-28.

In upcoming basketball action, LCBI will once again host a traditional event when the 39th annual Rick Johnson Classic takes place from January 27-28.
