Canora rink wins Kamsack’s Club 55 bonspiel

The Bob Roll rink of Canora topped Kamsack’s Club 55 bonspiel which concluded with a banquet on March 23. A total of 16 rinks were entered in the bonspiel which was held March 21 to 23, said Lloyd Thomas, president of Club 55.

            A total of 16 rinks were entered in the bonspiel which was held March 21 to 23, said Lloyd Thomas, president of Club 55. The teams played six-end games.

            In addition to six Kamsack teams, four were from Norquay, four from Canora, one from Bowsman and one from Swan River, Thomas said.

            Curling with Roll, who played third, were: Ron Hoehn, skip; Eleanor Murray, second, and Maxine Stinka, lead.

            The Terry Pierrepont rink of Bowesman, Man, placed second. Curling with Pierrepont, the skip, were: Julie Nahnybida, third; Barry Stephen, second, and Chris Stephen, lead.

            The Bob Lumley rink of Norquay placed third. Curling with Lumley, the skip, were: Ron Perepeluk, third; Donna Lumley, second, and Jane Perepeluk, lead.

            In fourth place was a tie between the Bruno Lemire rink of Kamsack and the Niemetz rink of Swan River.
