Rocked
It was all Kody Rock at Jubilee Park Thursday as he tossed a complete game, four-hit shut-out over Brooks, while striking out 12.
Rock currently leads the WMBL with 48 Ks, four better than Medicine Hat’s Jared Libke. Rock also leads in ERA with a 1.41 mark.
On offence Yorkton scored two in the first, added two more in the second, then gave Rock some added fusion with three in the eighth for the 7-0 win.
A night later, under the threat of rain, and a late game start time, the Cardinals again defused the visiting Bombers.
Yorkton used a sacrifice fly in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Brooks tied the game with a single run in the second, taking a lead with another run in the third.
Yorkton knotted the game 2-2 with a run of their own in the home-half of the third, taking a lead with a run in the fourth.
Brooks tied the game 3-3 in the sixth.
The home team finally put up a crooked number with two runs in the seventh for what would hold as a 5-3 win.
Jamie Whitehead was the Cardinal starter going 5.1 innings, allowing five hits, and three runs, two of them earned, but he would not be around for the decision, being relieved in the sixth inning by Gavin Collins.
Collins would toss 1.2 innings, and get the win, allowing only one hit and no runs.
Max Biedrzycki would be the Cardinals fourth pitcher of the night picking up the save.
On offence Billy Clapperton had a two hit night, driving in a pair.
Offences explode
It was a wild and woolly encounter in Regina last Wednesday for the visiting Cardinals.
Before it was over the teams would combine to send 12 pitchers to the hill, who allowed a combined 34 hits, 16 walks, and 32 runs. The teams also committed six errors.
Yorkton would score five in the first inning, but fell behind 6-5 as Regina scored six over the second, third and fourth innings.
In the fifth Yorkton added four, then 10 more in the sixth for a 19-6 lead.
The Red Sox scored five in their half of the sixth, then put two up in the seventh as they tried to mount a comeback, but fell short in the 19-13 contest.

Caden Rosholt also went deep for the Cardinals.
