Fourth person charged in murder of Saskatoon man

SASKATOON — Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have laid charges against a fourth person in relation to the death of 22-year-old Cody Tait of Saskatoon on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

Dana Morningchild, 29, from Saskatoon was arrested in Saskatoon on April 5 and is charged with one count of second-degree murder.

He appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on April 7. His next appearance will be in Saskatoon on April 28.

Also charged with second-degree murder are Robbie Cameron, 28, of Saskatoon, Scotty Jimmy, 20, of North Battleford, and Allison Bear, 20, of Saskatoon.

RCMP say that on March 27 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Rosthern RCMP received a report of a shooting on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

Officers located an injured male on a road in the community. Despite life-saving efforts, the male was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
