Junior girls host first volleyball home game

Members of the Preeceville School junior girls volleyball team were geared up for their first game of the season when Churchbridge was invited to Preeceville on September 16.

Members of the Preeceville School junior girls volleyball team were geared up for their first game of the season when Churchbridge was invited to Preeceville on September 16.

With coaches Cliff Prestie, Arlene Prestie, and Laura Chartrand, members of the team are: Rowan Prestie, Angelina Sorgen, Jordan Lowe, Makenna Petryshyn, Jillian Tonn, Claire Giddings, Emily Prestie, Skylar German, Morgan Mitchell, Avegail Irlandez, Mehgan Petryshyn, Kelsey Daschuk and Dana Chopty.

Preeceville won one of three matches while acquiring much needed experience in the first game of the season, said Coach Cliff Prestie.

“Both teams were evenly matched,” he said. “The team showed a lot of promise and is looking very good for the next game.”

The girls were to be traveling to Kamsack on September 22 followed by a home game on September 24 against Invermay. On September 26, they will be attending a Canora tournament.

“The team will be keeping busy with practices and games until the end of October,” Prestie said.
