“Everyone enjoyed the clinic,” Kevin Chutskoff, president of the Kamsack Curling Club, said of the clinic that was held at the Broda Sportsplex on January 27.

Sponsored by Affinity Credit Union, the clinic, for beginners and for seasoned curlers, was part of CurlSask’s program entitled Affinity Credit Union Curling in Your Community.

The clinic was conducted by Wayne Kiel, the provincial high performance coach, who has many years experience in coaching curling. He was assisted by Gerald Shymko of Calder, a past Brier competitor.

Ten district residents attended the clinic.

“It was fun,” Chutskoff said. “We would do it again, possibly next year.”

The clinic was basically aimed at getting people out and playing the sport. It aimed to help make people better curlers and to provide the opportunity for new curlers to get started with good instruction, covering the basics including how to deliver a stone and brushing.
