Lady Bisons Host Conference Basketball

Winners determined regional contenders

The LCBI Lady Bisons hosted 1A Girls Conference basketball on March 10 and 11, welcoming teams from Imperial, Hanley, Strasbourg and Kenaston to their court to determine who would be advancing to regionals action one week later.

The first and only game played on Friday night saw Hanley defeat Imperial at a score of 57-13.  The next day, the tournament continued with Kenaston besting Hanley at a score of 80-12.

LCBI would then take to the court to play their first game, going up against Strasbourg.  The skills on display from the Lady Bisons soon resulted in a very substantial lead on the scoreboard, and they managed to stave off any possible tide-turning by remaining one step ahead of the opposition.  By the time the final buzzer sounded, LCBI was victorious at a score of 74-33.

However, Kenaston would be the team that would leave the school the ultimate victors, as they met the Lady Bisons in the final and ended up defeating them at a score of 79-49.

Meanwhile, in 1A Boys action, the male Bisons ventured to Davidson in conference action, where they were defeated by Herbert at a razor-thin score of 78-77.  Also on the road were the Outlook Blues, who motored to Kindersley for 3A Boys conference action.  The Blues were defeated by Maple Creek at 81-20, who went on to win the tournament by beating the hosting Kindersley squad at 95-53.
