A new, five-person executive committee for the Kamsack Minor Hockey Association has begun preparations for the 2015-16 season.

Mike Eliuk was named president of the association during a meeting held in June, said Tracie Kazakoff, secretary. He succeeds Darren Schwartz.

Also on the executive are: Michelle Seversen, vice-president; Julie Gareau, treasurer, and Leanne McGriskin, registrar.

The first registration will be held at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute on September 2, Kazakoff said, adding that the early registration is needed so that the group would have an idea to inform the provincial body of how many teams will be formed this season.

Minor hockey will also be taking registrations during the town-wide registration night at the Broda Sportsplex on September 10.

“We expect IP, novice and atom teams, but as of yet are unsure about the peewee, bantam and midget teams,” she said.

As usual, minor hockey players and parents expect to be in the Sportsplex before the end of October.
