More than $14,000 was raised by this year’s Old Dog Run for Sparty Park, the wheelchair-accessible playground being constructed on the grounds of the Victoria School in Kamsack.

Each year the event raises money for a charitable organization, and this year it had been decided that money raised in the event would go towards the cost of construction of the playground.

Participants in this year ’s Old Dog Run, which had cyclists ride the 168 kilometres from Kamsack to Canora and Yorkton, and then back to Wroxton and Kamsack, were: Tom Campbell, Greg Nichol, Harold Maksymetz, Ken Achtymichuk, John Ross, Joe Kozakewich, Brenda Andrews, Warren Andrews, Jim Nahnybida and Murray Chutskoff.

A reception, organized by members of the school community council and Victoria School staff, was held at the caboose at Trackside Garden. Entertainment was provided by the Polka Pals of Kamsack.
