Parkland 18U AAA Expos spilt pair with Regina White Sox

YORKTON / MELVILLE - The Regina 18U AAA White Sox visited the Parkland 18U AAA Expos for a doubleheader Tuesday at Pirie Field in Melville.

In the opening game the visitors struck early putting two on the board in the top of the first inning.

The Expos finally cut the 2-0 deficit in half with a single run in the fourth inning.

But, the Sox took that run right back, scoring their only single run in the top of the fifth inning to lead 3-1.

In the bottom of the fifth the Expos scored twice to knot the contest 2-2, and then added two in the sixth inning to take their first lead of the game at 5-3, which would hold for the remainder of the action.

Jonah Kuntz started the game for Regina surrendering three runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out five and walking none.

Jackson Hungle started on the mound for the home side. Hungle allowed three hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, while striking out eight.

Neither starter was around to be a pitcher of record.

Landon Burkell was the winning pitcher for the Expos. He allowed one hit and no runs over two and a third innings, walking one.

Zach Dobson took the loss for Regina. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.

The Expos scattered 12 hits in the game. Jackson Hungle, Ty Ulmer, Spencer Phythian, Bryker Smith and Zakery Hungle each had multiple hits.

In game two, a contest recorded as a home game for Regina, it was all White Sox.

The Sox scored five in the third inning, added two in the fourth, then two more in the fifth to lead 9-0.

The Expos finally scored one in the seventh to prevent being shut-out.

Carter Phythian was the losing pitcher for the Expos. He went four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out two.

Jory Graves was the winning pitcher for the White Sox. He allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four.

On offence Chaz Jaeb, Kimmuel Albarracin and Zakery Hungle all had multiple hit games for the Expos.
