The Preeceville Panthers celebrated their first win of the season against Kamsack on September 16. The first game of the season for the Panthers was a home game with a large crowd of fans cheering the team on for 20-18 win.

“It was a very close game with both teams looking for a first win,” said Jeremy Mattison, coach.

“We have a young team this year and it is a rebuilding year team. The Panthers started out slow and unsure of themselves but as the game went on, the players built their confidence in themselves and as a team.

“We need to work on some areas as there is always room for improvement,” said Mattison. “The next test will be against Wynyard on September 24.

“Despite having short bench, the team did great and we hold the players to a high standard.

“The defence and offence are working well together and the season looks very promising,” Mattison said.
