Saints basketball win on the road

The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys’ basketball team traveled to Lumsden last weekend to take part in their tournament. The Saints came out on top of the tournament, winning all three of their games.

The SHHS Saints and the YRHS Raiders will host a senior boys’ basketball home tournament on March 3 and 4.

The Saints came out on top of the tournament, winning all three of their games.

The first took place on Friday, and they faced the Lumsden team. The Saints came out on top with a final score of 80-39.

Grady Hawkins led the Saints in scoring, with 20 points to his name. Austin Walkington led in rebounds with 12 and Nathan Cochrane trailed right behind him with 11.

On Saturday, the team’s first game was against Caronport. This game was closer, as Caronport took the lead at the beginning of the game. But the Saints were able to battle back for the win, with a final score of 85-80.

It was an impressive game for Grady Hawkins, who racked up 35 points for the team.

Austin Walkington led in rebounds again with 12, followed by Noah Clarke with 10.

The third and final game for the Saints was against Moosomin, and they won with a final score of 71-50.

Noah Clarke led the team in points with 17, followed by Austin Walkington and Ethan Danchilla each with 14 points. Austin Walkington had 14 rebounds, again leading the team.

The Saints head to a tournament in Estevan this coming weekend, and then break for a few weeks before a home tournament on the first weekend in March.
