The Sacred Heart Saints football team took their 1-0 record on the road Friday, Sept. 16 to face the Broadview Bandits in East Central 9-man football league action. The Bandits also held a 1-0 record going into the game. But the Saints came out victorious with a final score of 42-12.
It was a big day for Saints quarterback Zach Goulden-Maddin and Nathan Cochrane, with the pair connecting well all game, putting up a combined total of 26 points for the Saints. More Saints points were put on the board by Michael Dobrowolski and Austin Walkington.
“It took us a while to get our running game going” said Saints coach Scott Musqua. “But Zach (Goulden-Maddin) did a good job getting the ball to our receivers and letting them make plays. Nathan (Cochrane) had a monster day receiving. It truly was a team effort tonight, where everyone did their job and contributed to the win.
The next action for the Saints will be on Thursday, September 22 at 4:00 pm when the Saints host the Foam Lake Panthers.
