SECON Maulers shut out on home ice by Regina

The Maulers are back in action on the weekend at the Westland Insurance Arena hosting the Saskatoon Contacts Saturday and Sunday with game time at 2 p.m. both days.

The Regina Pat Canadians scored five Wednesday in Yorkton.

YORKTON - The Yorkton SECON Maulers only generated 22 shots Wednesday as they defended home ice against the Regina Pat Canadians. 

And, unfortunately for the home side no Mauler shot eluded Regina netminder Taylor Tabashniuk who earned a shut-out. 

Meanwhile Mauler goaltender Blake Sittler faced 25 shots, allowing five goals in the loss. 

Regina scored once in the first period on a shot by Ryan McDonald. 

Nolan Stevenson made it 2-0 for Regina with the only goal of the second period, a powerplay effort. 

Casey Brown made it 3-0 in the third period with Regina’s second powerplay goal of the game. 

It was then Jaxon Skiftun’s turn to shine, scoring two goals in 16 seconds to round out the 5-0 Pat Canadians win.
