Terriers beat Canucks

The Yorkton Bantam AA Terriers played the Regina Canucks twice over the course of the weekend. In the opening game of the series played on March 5, the Terriers exploded for six goals en route to a 6-1 beating.

In the opening game of the series played on March 5, the Terriers exploded for six goals en route to a 6-1 beating.

Against the Canucks, Yorkton got goals from six different players. Turner Ottenbreit had a goal and an assist, as well as Korwin Shewchuk and Caleb Sutter. Singles came from Levi Morin and Colton Dudar.

Yorkton then hosted the Canucks in an important playoff game Sunday evening at the Farrell Agencies Arena during South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League action where it was much the same result as game one. Four different players scored again, three of which had their second goal of the series. Ottenbreit, Shewchuk and Sutter all tallied for the second straight game, while Jarod Hilderman scored.

Tanner Mak had a pair of assists while Riley Rozdeba and Morin both had one.

The Yorkton Terriers advance to the next round where they will either play Melville or Moose Jaw.
