The U18 United boys claimed victory in the Harder Avalon Soccer Tournament June 3 -5 in Saskatoon. Coach Jeanne Fetsch would like to commend the boys not only for their effort in winning the tournament with 12 players but also on their excellence in producing some quality soccer. They produced 4 clean sheets in 4 games to become tournament champions. Led by keepers Zack Shearer and Michael Dobrowolski who shared duty in net, YUFC produced a dominant defensive performance. Cody Doll, Ben Koroluk and Brayden Bowles produced textbook defense all weekend.

YUFC opened the tournament with a 3 to nil victory over Swift Current, with goals coming from Ben Fetsch, Austin Thomas and Braden Bowles.  Next up were Melfort where the boys won 10 to nil. Nathan Cochrane netted four goals, Zack Shearer and Darion Naimi each had a pair and singles were added by Ben Fetsch, and Braden Bowles

In the Third game, YUFC faced a Manitoba team from Flin Flon and defeated them 2 to nil. Goals coming from Ben Fetsch and Christian Smith.

In the final game, the boys met a talented Saskatoon Lakewood team. The winner of this game would be tournament champs. The game was back and forth for the first half with both teams creating scoring chances. Austin Thomas rang one off the cross bar but the score remained 0-0 at the half. In the second half, YUFC started to control the game ane were awarded for their effort on two nice strikes coming off the feet of Ben Fetsch and Derek Campbell.

Next action for the U18 boys will be back in Saskatoon June 17-19 for the Sasaktoon Eastside tournament as they prepare for provincials in Lloydminster at the beginning of July.
