More recently, the Yankees were on the short end of an 8-1 thumping at the hands of the Royals this past Tuesday night at Jubilee Park.

The Yankees had many new players in the lineup who had not played for some time.

Midget call-up Matthew Leshchyshyn took the loss on the mound for the Yankees despite a strong outing in which he struck out eight Willowbrook batters over four innings.

Scott Effa earned the win for Willowbrook. Eric Tuttossi and Kurtis Chupa came on in relief of Leshchyshyn. The Yankees slapped out nine hits and had three walks with one batter taking first base after being hit by a pitch.

Austin Hovrisko was strong behind the plate and also had two singles as did Trent Winitowy. Ryan Neal and Dwayne Wandy each had a double and Chupa, Kevin Balabuk and Kurt Karcha each had a hit apiece. Willowbrook collected five hits, walked seven times and had two batters hit by pitches.
