The Cardinals were in the Queen City for Game 3 of the best-of-five Western Major Baseball League playoff series having won the first two games of the series in Yorkton.

The Red Sox did take a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but that would be all they could muster off Cardinal starter Max Biedrzycki.

Biedrzycki would allow only the one run in eight innings of work, giving up three hits, while walking five and striking out five.

In the top of the third the Cardinals would plate three, and while that would be enough, would add a pair in the fifth and one in the seventh for a 6-1 win, and a series sweep.

Hunter Hisky would lead the Yorkton offence with three runs batted in.

With the win Yorkton advances to the WMBL East Division final against Swift Current. The Indians, who topped the East through the regular season, also had an opening round sweep, eliminating Weyburn.

Swift Current went 33-15 in the regular season for a .688 winning percentage, finishing 4.5 games up on second place Yorkton. The Cardinals were 28-19 for a .596 winning percentage.

The Indians led the WMBL in team batting with a .313 average. Yorkton was fifth a .291.

Swift Current also led the league with a team pitching ERA of 3.03. Yorkton was again fifth at 4.54.

The Indians fielding percentage as a team over the regular season was .964, in a three-way tie for third best in the WMBL. Yorkton had a .959 percentage for seventh.
