Yorkton Junior Raiders secure second place

Next up for the local team are the playoffs with the first game for the Junior Raiders set for Thanksgiving Monday in Regina versus the seventh place Regina Packers.

In a home game Saturday the Junior Raiders were led offensively by Tyson Korol who scored a pair of touchdowns.

YORKTON - Under sunny skies, and on their home field the Yorkton Junior raiders secured second place in the Bantam Division of the Regina Minor Football League with a 32-16 over the Regina Lakers. 

The win gave the Junior Raiders a 6-2 record on the season. 

In the game Saturday the Junior Raiders were led offensively by Tyson Korol who scored a pair of touchdowns.  

Defensively Royce Rathgeber pressured the quarterback all game and Riley Stewart recovered a fumble in the end zone for a defensive TD, noted coach Alan Kyle. 

On special teams, Gage Keller blocked two field goals, one of which was returned 80 yards for a TD by Jesse Anhalt, said the coach. 

It was a total team effort in the win, scoring on offence, defence and special teams, noted Kyle.
