Dear Editor:

On June 30, I went to Dauphin for the first time to the Country Music Festival which was just great.

Great weather there and what caught my attention was the sun and how long it was light - almost until 11:00 p.m. This made me think, "what's wrong with the Saskatchewan people with Daylight Savings time?

In my view, every household would save one hour of electricity for lighting every day which would cut down the consumption of power. Recreation groups would save thousands because they could wait to turn on the lights. Do all people believe that cows would not give milk or chickens would not lay eggs? How can all other provinces be wrong and only Saskatchewan is right?

The other objection is the west side of Saskatchewan does not want it. Don't all other provinces have a west side? How do you think they deal with it?

I guess the majority of Saskatchewan people do not want to change because the majority of the population is in control of western Saskatchewan. I feel for radio stations having to constantly remember to say two different times, times in Saskatchewan and then Manitoba.

It is unfortunate that the Sask Party promise to have a plebiscite on this very question was cancelled. I don't know if anything can be done now, but I sure hope someone does something to open the eyes of Saskatchewan people.
