Dear Editor,
What Is Happening and Where Are We Going?
I hold before me an article dated Dec. 8, 2015 in the Leader Post Re: Our Tax Dollars.
Radiologists are the medical specialists who provide potentially life-saving diagnosis in virtually every aspect of your health care. For 65 years Regina’s radiologists have served patients in our community, diagnosing many diseases, including cancer, heart disease and stroke. In spite of this, hospital administrators with reckless disregard for the health of patients have terminated the local radiology group and outsourced diagnostic exams like MRI’s to Alberta.
Tell your MLA that Regina is at risk of not having enough local radiologists – I did.
Regina spent millions of dollars on a new stadium, not really a necessity.
Medicine is sitting in the back row! In 2009, I had back surgery and had an MRI in Regina. A few months ago, I asked a Yorkton doctor if I need an MRI. Would you refer me to Regina for one. He said, No. I would have to send you to Edmonton. Holy Smokes! isn’t this something.
If the late Tommy Douglas could look back and see what has and is happening to his Medicare dream for mankind – Indeed, a sad situation.
