Pride Parade well-supported in Yorkton

Saturday it was mostly well wishers and obvious Pride supporters who waved as the colourful parade made its way down Smith Street.

YORKTON - Pride Parade participants in Yorkton met with a far more friendly group of people lining the streets for the Pride Week event Saturday than had been the case a day earlier.

Friday Drag Queen Story Time held at Coles in the Parkland Mall Friday was met by a group of individuals chanting ‘leave our children alone’ in the common area outside the book store, trying to disrupt ‘SheFoam’ who read to about 20 children and their parents and guardians inside the book store.

Saturday it was mostly well wishers and obvious Pride supporters who waved as the colourful parade made its way down Smith Street, then across to Broadway Street ending at a gathering at City Centre Park.
